Ocean Animals Science Sensory Bin: Sea shells, fossils, shark teeth, and more! This simple sensory bin is a great way to get children exploring marine life through sight, sound, touch, and even scent! Both my toddler and my early elementary aged child enjoyed and learned through this hands on activity!

Sensory bins are something that we absolutely adore around here! They are simple to throw together, fun to play with, and just all around a great way to explore different concepts. For this sensory bin we received a Sea Life Specimen Center from Lakeshore Learning for review.

Letter Factory Mixed Up Letters Game! This simple game is a fun way to get kiddos exploring phonics and letter recognition all while having some simple sensory fun!

Earlier this week we were sent the new Amazing Word Explorers by Leap Frog for review and my kiddos absolutely fell in love with the new DVD…not that it was that hard of a sell for our family as we adore all Leap Frog learning materials and have used the Letter Factory DVD series to teach all of our kiddos literacy skills.

While educational cartoons can be a great way to pique a child’s interest in certain topics {and pull them into a fun world of imaginary play exploring that topic} it is also important to reinforce that learning away from the screen. Simple games such as this Mixed-Up Letter Factory Sensory Bin are a great way to do just that!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Color Sorting Activity: This is a quick and simple toddler activity that is a super fun way to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of those books that all of my kids have loved to tatters since the day they were introduced to Eric Carle’s world of color. There is just something about his books that invites readers to get lost between the pages.

Being that Meatball is just starting to pique interest in sorting and matching and that Eric Carle is well known for his vibrant illustrations, we decided that the best way to kick off our Caterpillar learning would be through a fun and colorful activity!

Water Bead Sensory Play: Have you or your kids ever played with water beads? If not then you MUST! Water beads are such an amazing sensory experience! They’re squishy, slightly slimy, slippery, and just absolutely amazing!

This activity has quickly become one of MY favorites. In one extremely simple activity kids are exposed to science, sensory and fine motor exploration! Plus it uses essential oils that were amazing for calming my kiddos down before nap time!!!
