My kids love sensory play and today they decided to get a tad crazy with their quiet time activity by mixing their two favorite sensory bin materials – Water Beads + Slime. Playing with this slime was so much fun and learning How to Make Water Bead Slime was an adventure in itself!
This has been the stretchiest slime we have made. How the waterbeads and slime acted together was fascinating!
Recently it has been bitterly cold outside and my boys have been bouncing off the walls. I have always parented with the philosophy that if you remove the walls kids cannot bounce off of them, but our weather here just does not want to cooperate. This has left me in desperate need of activities that will engage both of the boys (9 months and three years old). The Beaded Candy Cane Ornament one of the easiest crafts you can make with your kids and one of my favorites that I remember making as a child. Some of the things that I love about this beaded candy cane ornament is that it doesn’t require much. Set up is simple and once made these ornaments are pretty indestructible. Considering that my two year old has been at war with our Christmas tree since it went up (and after the three or four times it has gone back up…) Christmas ornaments that aren’t going to shatter glass everywhere are pretty important for us.
When it comes to the holidays, peppermint is one of my favorite scents. Just one whiff and it is an instant magical trip back to the land of Santa and Rudolph and snow. Never fails, like a great glass of hot coco, peppermint will always remind me of this time of year. Because of that when it came time to work on our writing tonight I couldn’t think of any excuse to not make a Peppermint Sensory Writing Tray…tis the season 🙂

It’s no secret that in our home sensory bins are a pretty big thing…anything that can entertain us til’ nap time is a pretty big thing. We love our sensory bins because they are just so easy to throw together and they entertain kids in open-ended play for hours. This week my kids have turned their focus to everything and anything Star Wars. Their excitement for the upcoming movie is near unbearable. So of course it is only logical that we do some Star Wars activities such as this Star Wars Galaxy Slime!
