Valentines Day Card and Sensory Play

Sharing is caring!

I really wanted to make Valentines Day cards for our loved ones this year. We have been working a lot on expressing gratitude and focusing on other people this month so making cards telling people why we love them is right up that alley!

Items Needed for the Valentines Day Card Craft:

  • Glitter
  • Glue
  • Colored Rice
  • Crayons

When it came time to do this craft Livia was just finishing up messing around in the Valentines Day sensory bin. Usually once we are done playing around in them the rice ends up in the garbage. As I pulled out our recycling craft bin she chimed in and reminded me that rice could also be recycled. I love the mind of that little girl! If you ask me I think it is quite brilliant!

So we cleaned out all the pom-poms, scoop cups, Popsicle sticks, and glitter streamers. The way the cards turned out is absolutely adorable!

Valentines day card To make the rice split a bag of rice into three zip-lock baggies, added a couple drops of red, pink, and purple food dye into the bags, a dash of vinegar into each bag, and a couple drops of rose essential oil into each zip-lock. If they had chocolate I would have totally done that, but I couldn’t find anything similar so went with the next best Valentines Day smell…roses!
