In our home Sunday for the hubs means football. Slowly the kids are getting into watching it with him. The boys rough house and practice their tackling skills while Livia taunts them by cheering for the opposing team. It can be quite the scene…and quite honestly making a big meal in the middle of all the fun can put a halt on things. Because Sundays is the rare day we all have together, I don’t like to spend the entirety of that time in the kitchen. So for me, finding simple foods for football Sunday is a must!

The challenge in finding a simple meal is in finding something that my kids will eat AND something that can fill the hubs up. Being that my kids are particular about eating meat and my hubs is not a little guy, it is quite the challenge. More often than not we are eating Campbell’s Chunkyâ„¢ Soup on Football Sunday.

The big pieces of meat and veggies with real flavor have yet to fail me as a Sunday Chunky Game Plan.

But, like I said my kids are picky eaters. Introducing new foods to them can at times prove to be a challenge. So here’s my secret —

When introducing new foods to kids serve it with something your kids are already crazy in love with. For my kids, that’s bread. They literally eat bread by the loaf.

So, when making a new Chunkyâ„¢ soup I also make little bread bowls for the kids. Satisfying my hubs football sized hunger while enticing my kids to try something new, now that’s some serious play action!

How to Make Kid Sized Bread Bowls

To make a kid sized bread bowl you will need a muffin pan and premade biscuits. Follow the baking directions on your packaging. You will be baking your biscuits on the bottom side of your muffin pan. When they come out of the oven they will look like the photo below. Remove them while they are hot or they will stick horribly to the pan. Once cool enough to touch deepen the bowl if need be with a knife.

Then fill with your favorite ChunkyTM soup and serve! You can either cook the soup on the stove-top or microwave. Whichever fits your style!

On a side note — the Chunkyâ„¢ BBQ Seasoned Pork has been my families favorite lately. Currently we live in an area that doesn’t know how to BBQ. It has been one of the things that I have been missing like crazy. The new BBQ Seasoned Pork is filled with the flavors of home, so we have been loving it!
