The Secret to Vibrant and Soft Play Dough

It’s no secret that we love play dough around here. It seems like daily I am having to whip up another batch. While learning how to make play dough I ran into a couple different frustrations like reds that looked more like pinks and dyeing processes that left my hands stained and my kitchen a mess.

For the longest time I used and loved our easy play dough recipe. It is a fail proof way to make an amazing play dough that lasts. We even discovered how to turn the easy play dough recipe into a glow in the dark play dough recipe…But I have to be completely honest and say that I really wanted to find a method that was even easier than that.

Gruffalo Play Dough

The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson is one of my favorite children books. It is one of those books that my kids ask to read again and again, one of those books that fills the room with laughter every time. This simple invitation to create Gruffalo Play Dough is a fantastic way to spend time together while exploring this classic story!

Playing with play dough is one of my kids favorite afternoon activities. It is super simple to throw together, clean up, and has a ton of developmental benefits! For this activity we made two batches of play dough together using our favorite easy play dough recipe. While the play dough cooled down we curled up and read!

Glow in the Dark Play Dough

This month we have been having a blast with glow in the dark everything. It started with the discovery of Glow in the Dark Jello and has just kinda taken a life of it’s own since then…

This Glow in the Dark Play Dough (well actually it is more black light) has been super fun!

So far this month we have discovered that glow in the dark zombies are an awesome alternative to using glow sticks in the bathtub along with how to make Glow in the Dark Jello.

I suppose you could say this month has been full of bright ideas…heh.

Pumpkin Spice Play Dough

Alrighty guys, I have held out on this as long as I could. But with only a couple more days until Fall equinox I think I am safe in sharing…PUMPKINS! Don’t worry, I am not a pumpkin latte girl so ya’ll wont be bombarded with drink recipes. But, I do love just about everything else pumpkin. How could I not? This Pumpkin Spice Play Dough is an awesome way to greet Autumn and fill your home with some fantastic scents through play!

I absolutely love making homemade play dough for the kids. With how quickly we spend through play dough, it is definitely a must…otherwise my pocket book would be taking quite the hit.
