Traveling with kids is made out to be this big impatient monster with green snot and sticky fingers who pokes at you for hours on end asking you,
Are we there yet? No? What about now?
Purgatory at best, but more than likely just a straight up shot of pounding headache, cramped legs, pure exhaustion nightmare.
Well…not really. While traveling with kids is painted to be this way, it really doesn’t have to be. With a little bit of travel prep, some positivity, and a large dose of patience, traveling with kids can be a lot of fun.
As a mom who does at least once cross-country road trip with her kids every quarter, though, I do highly suggest dragging along a tablet or two for those moments when you absolutely need quiet.

Style Me Up i-Loom Starter Pack
Style Me Up i-Loom Starter Pack
When I was a kid, making friendship bracelets was one of my favorite past-time activities so when I saw this I couldn’t resist adding it. This is definitely one of the neatest app-enabled tech toys I have seen in a while! Not only does this case neatly store all the strings, the app is also filled with an ever growing library of patterns to keep your child challenged and creating!

The Belkin Road Rockstar with 4 USB Ports
Ever been in a car with only one cigarette lighter? When you have kids playing electronics for extended periods in the car that is a surefire recipe for disaster. If you have to share a charger port (whether it is in the front or back of your car), then this is the device for you. This Road Rockstar has definitely earned its name with its ability to charge 4 different electronics at once AND reach the front and backseat with ease. This is one of my favorite electronic accessory that I own!

Crayola DigiTools Deluxe Creativity Pack – Digital Toolkit for iPad
Crayola DigiTools Deluxe Creativity Pack
Crayons and markers are a lot of fun to take on vacations (perferct quiet time activities), but they aren’t really the most friendly to take into cars. I am sure almost any parent who has tried to remove melted crayon wax from a car seat can agree. These DigiTools allow your kids to do the same type of creative activities without the mess of shredded paper and melted crayons.

Star Wars Rebels The Ghost Ship BookLite – LED Book Light with Large Adjustable Clip and Timer
Star Wars Rebels The Ghost Ship BookLite
So…I have been looking for an excuse to share this product with y’all for a long time. Not only is this Star Wars BookLite awesome, it is very practical for long road trips with kids. When it comes to driving at night kids in the backseat with overhead lights on can be distracting. At the same time, you don’t want your kids sitting back there in the dark staring at bright screens, because that is really hard on their eyes. An awesome BookLite such as this is a simple solution; kids can use this to play in the backseat without causing the harsh distracting glares that would come from the overhead.

Kensington GummyGrip Stylus for Kids (K97187WW)
Kensington GummyGrip Stylus
Kids love playing and learning on tablets. It’s fun and interactive. But all those fingerprints mean having to clean off the screen repeatedly. Not only will with stylus help keep your tablet clean, but it is also a fantastic tool for working on your child’s printing and fine motor skills.

Dust-Off DEVA Ultimate Screen Care Kit – Silver
Dust-Off DEVA Ultimate Screen Care Kit
This is the kit that I personally use at home, and I love it. The carrying case is small enough to fit into my purse, and the outer shell of it is strong enough that I can easily throw it to the back seat without having to worry about cleaner exploding. I use this cleaner on all of our screens at home and absolutely love it.
