How to Put Together a Calm Down Jar:
I can’t even tell you how easy these discovery bottles are to make! But with it being Pokémon, I’m certain we’d make this no matter what. They’re a real hit around here.
The very first thing you need to do is fill your bottle with water no more than half way. The more water you use in your bottle, the faster your Pokémon characters will fall. Then you add your Pokémon characters, the corn syrup, and simply screw on your lid. You may even opt to glue your lid shut. We typically don’t, I just have my hubs screw it on super tight.
When we make these calm down jars, we use an even mixture of water and corn syrup. We’ve found it takes about 5 minutes for the Pokémon characters to make it from one end of the bottle to the other.
It’s absolutely amazing to see these Pokémon suspended by the corn syrup in the sensory bottles!
The most incredible thing about these calming bottles though, is that not every Pokémon will travel in the same way! Some will go to one end, while others will go to the opposite end. Many Pokémon will sink to the bottom, while others will float to the top. It’s so cool to see what each Pokémon character does inside these calming bottles!
My Pokémon loving kids just love these calming bottles!
