How to Make Your Red Fish Blue Fish Craft
Let’s get crafty and make some Seuss-inspired fish! Here’s how to bring your red and blue fish to life:
Start by cutting your paper plate in half -easy peasy.
Now, snip off the rims from both halves, but don’t toss them! We’re going to use those for the fins later.
With the remaining halves, trim them into nice, round shapes. These are the fish bodies.
Now for the fun part: painting! Give one fish body a coat of blue and the other a splash of red. Let them dry while you move on to the fins.
Remember those rims you saved? Cut out six little rectangles and two squares. The rectangles will become the dorsal and tail fins, and the squares will be the side fins (aka pectoral fins!).
Paint them up! Three pieces red, three pieces blue so they match your fish bodies.
Once your fish are dry and colorful, it’s time to assemble them. For the blue fish, glue one blue rectangle on top for the dorsal fin, two on the back for the tail, and the square on the side. Do the same for the red fish with the red pieces.
Finally, slap a googly eye on each fish to give them some character.
And there you have it, two adorable, Seuss-inspired fish ready to swim into your next storytime or art display!
Now, go show off your crafty creations!
