How cute is this I Want to Eat Your Books Bookmark?!

One of the things that I love about being a blogger is getting to explore the new kids books that are out there with my kids. It’s seriously one of my favorite perks. This week we were sent a book by Karin LeFranc and Tyler Parker called, “I Want to Eat Your Books“. This book was absolutely adorable and a fun conversation starter on how to properly treat books!

As we watched the book-ivore zombie tear through the pages of this delightful book Meatball laughed, cringed, and quite often shouted out “No! No!”. The illustrations were bright and fun and the overall feel of the book is very playful. In the end the zombie teaches yet another book destroying monster how to treat books. It was at this point that Meatball voluntarily got up to pick up his books on the floor!

Frog Egg Slime! A Slippery Squishy Sensory Bin

Frog Egg Slime! A Squishy Slipper Sensory Bin

Earlier this summer we were able to visit this amazing natural playground in Rochester, MN. If ya’ll ever go through there make sure to stop and visit (it is called Oxbow). While we were there we got to see Frogs and Toads up close and it was super cool. This experience spurred on a fascination with frogs for my kids. Ya’ll are never going to believe what this Frog Egg Sensory Bin is made out of, but it was perfect for setting up some pretend play while learning about the anatomy of Frog Eggs.

Although we love attending Fall festivals, haunted houses, and corn mazes, doing Halloween Kid Crafts has to be on the top of the list as our favorite thing to do during this time of year. There is a long list of simple crafts to do with kids. However, I don’t think any get any easier than this Q-Tip Skeletons Craft.

Fall Farm Sensory Bin

Fall Farm Sensory Bin

Fall is by far one of my favorite seasons. The scents, the foliage, the colors, the crisp air…I love it. I didn’t use to like fall. Growing up on a farm meant fall was back breaking labor. Harvest season is lots and lots of work. To Meatball though, harvest is fascinating. This Fall Farm Sensory Bin was the best of both worlds – the relaxing elements of fall and the fascination of farm life.

Once a week we do shopping trip to one of the craft stores to browse the clearance sections. This week the kids scored big. We found some neat science kits and crafts. This is also one of my favorite places to find inspiration for sensory bin fillers. The items for this sensory bin were all found in the floral section.
