Are your kids into the Minecraft craze? Mine definitely are! These Minecraft Creeper Treats are guaranteed to be a simple and fun snack that your kids will LOVE!

My kids would adore this rice krispie treats recipe for Minecraft Creeper Pops!

Lately Livia has been on a “I hate school” kick. She has fallen into this phase where to do anything related to learning she thinks she needs a reward. At home we have never been big on rewards, so to see this breaks my heart. One of the things that Livia has been asking lately is to make her own lunch or after school snack. So instead of a reward for behaving at school, what about a “reward” in her lunch box that she creates?! I think this just might work…

To be honest, I HATE packing back to school lunches. They are a nightmare to me. So when she managed to talk me into buying Kellogg’s Back to School Snacks while picking up Meatballs preschool items at Target I was more than a bit hesitant. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats, I can always find any excuse to eat them.

It’s just mornings. I don’t like mornings.

Mornings are already very rough so to add one more task to the list…eh.

So we came to a compromise. Sunday night she had to make all of her sandwiches and snacks for the week and place them in the freezer. This way lunch prep in the morning would just be grab and go. Lucky for her, most of the Kellogg items she picked were already perfectly portioned for this!

Since this is going the be the first week we give an honest try at this method, we decided to make some fun snacks to go with her meals to act as an encouragement. Because, if we can pull this off it will save us money. In my book anything that saves money should be encouraged!

This Minecraft Rice Krispie Treats recipe can work beautifully as a pop or even just on it’s own. We had a blast with this simple family activity. Since it requires no baking this is a great recipe for introducing kitchen rules to your kids.

  • Utensils for Dipping
  • Wax Paper

Directions

  1. Since the Rice Krispies Treats are perfectly sized there is no need to do anything with them other than open the packaging! Easy peasy.
  2. In a glass cup microwave your green chocolate candy melts for one minute. Stir. Repeat in 30 second intervals until the chocolate is melted smooth. It usually only takes me 1:30 to reach the consistency needed.
  3. Once the chocolate is smooth dip your Rice Krispies into the chocolate. Personally I left the bottom part of the treat exposed, you can cover the entire thing if you would like. Then place your treats on a piece of wax paper to harden. My kids would adore this rice krispie treats recipe for Minecraft Creeper Pops!
  4. Once hardened take a knife and trim any excess that formed from sitting on a flat surface. You might get a finger print on your treats, but that’s ok it will cover back up.My kids would adore this rice krispie treats recipe for Minecraft Creeper Pops!
  5. In the bottom of your treat stick your pop stick. My kids would adore this rice krispie treats recipe for Minecraft Creeper Pops!
  6. Using your black food dye and food pen draw on your Creeper faces. Creeper’s face is made of squares and rectangles so this is super simple for kids to do. You can just use a food pen if you would like. I never have luck with them working evenly so I use the two together. If you cannot find a food pen you could also use a paint brush. My kids would adore this rice krispie treats recipe for Minecraft Creeper Pops!
  7. Allow your Minecraft Creeper Treats to dry and serve!

So easy and so fun!
