Mess Free Paint Bags

Mess Free Painting Bags are a fantastic educational activity for kids of all ages!

Recently it has been bitterly cold outside and my boys have been bouncing off the walls. I have always parented with the philosophy that if you remove the walls kids cannot bounce off of them, but our weather here just does not want to cooperate. This has left me in desperate need of activities that will engage both of the boys (9 months and three years old). The versatility offered in Mess Free Painting Bags has been the perfect solution to get the two of them exploring and playing safely together!

For this activity, we worked on both color mixing, letter recognition, pre-writing skills, and sharing!

Letter Recognition Snow Search

My little man is absolutely obsessed with Paw Patrol. Like he is a walking ad for the show level of obsessed. His favorite pup this week is Everest who has gone on many missions with him into the snowy wonderland that is our backyard. This Letter Recognition Snow Search came to be in an attempt to channel some of his rescue mission passion into a fun indoor learning activity.

A blizzard has buried all 26 letters and they are all trapped under the snow fall. Rescue each letter (and identify them) so they can get back home to their puzzle board!

Alphabet Flash Light Hunt

My three year old has difficulties with gross motor planning with his speech, he knows what he wants to say but his ability to form the words just isn’t quite there yet. This Alphabet Flash Light Game is one of the many games that we play to help him practice making different sounds.

Even if your child does not have a difficulty with speech this game of Seek and Shine is a fantastic way to work on skills such as letter recognition!

ABC Car Wash Sensory Bin

Alphabet Car Wash Sensory Bin: Sensory Bins are a fabulous tool for learning. They are a quick and easy way to get children engaged while exploring a variety of different skills and concepts.

So…I keep on telling myself I am going to get this whole morning with four kiddos thing down, but…it’s a struggle. This morning to keep the kids entertained long enough to load the dishwasher, shower, and feed baby I decided to give a sensory bin a try. It was a major success (and honestly a pretty big mess too). We played with this activity for over an hour and it brought out so many fantastic conversations and challenges!
