Chocolate Mud
After we made our chocolate moonsand and had some material left over, we decided it was a perfect opportunity to make a fun sensory bin! My kids love this chocolate oobleck sensory play recipe since it closely simulates playing in mud! It’s a real hit with kids.
Chocolate Oobleck Sensory Play Recipe
Items needed:
1 box cornstarch
½ cup cocoa powder
1-2 cups water
Healthworks Raw Certified Organic Cacao Powder, 1 lbClear Box Under Bed Storage IRIS CB-70
Safari Ltd Farm TOOB
Directions:
STEP 1: In a large plastic tub, dump out the cornstarch and the cocoa powder.
STEP 2: Add in 1 cup of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency. This will create a non-Newtonian that is easy to mold but will also melt. We enjoy ours to be on the thicker side as it makes a great calming activity for the kids and is quite resistant.
STEP 3: Throw in some toys and play! We enjoyed playing with farm animals for this one.
Sensory bins are fantastic for hands-on play that helps kids develop great fine motor skills. My kids love this sensory bin as it simulates mud and farm play. I bet your kids will have a blast too with this chocolate oobleck kids play recipe!
