My kids LOVE candy corn. And me? Well…that candy is evil. Absolutely evil. I cannot stand it. So I had this crazy idea — what if I tricked the kids with a “Healthy (ish) Candy Corn”? It’s candy corn. Couldn’t be THAT hard to come up with a healthier alternative. And guess what? It worked. My kids LOVED this Healthy Halloween Parfait even more.
Now, how healthy is it? Well it does have whipped cream and a Peep…but instead of being entirely sugar I was able to sneak in some colorful fruits. My Grandma used to tell me that a dish should always be visually pleasing with color, that’s how you could tell it was healthy…and this one is? Well maybe not what she meant, but it is vibrant with colors!
Making this Healthy Halloween Parfait is so ridiculously easy even your kids could make it! I think it would be a ton of fun to set out the ingredients for this Halloween treat into a snack bar. Could be perfect for a Halloween party! hmm…maybe an upcoming blog post there, because that gives me some ideas 😉
So…enough of me babbling…here is how we made our Healthy Halloween Parfaits!
Healthy Halloween Parfait:
- Pineapple, 8 ounce can
- Mandarin Oranges, 1-2
- Whipped Cream, as desired,
- Ghost Peep (buy here)
- Open and drain pineapples. Place 1-2 handfuls into your cup.
- Peel oranges and add to top of pineapples.
- Top it all with whipped cream.
- Add a Peep to the whipped cream.
- Serve and Enjoy!
