Holiday Felt Busy Tray

Christmas Eve is tomorrow and I still have so much to do. Please tell me I am not alone…because this to do list is daunting! With a house full of…love…and a million little helpers, reaching that last item on the to do list is going to be quite the challenge. This simple Holiday Felt Busy Tray is a fun way to keep little hands busy (and helping) while giving you a break from the chaos.

My kids had a absolute blast with this invitation to create. Each busy tray took me about 15 minutes to throw together (I made two) and held the kids attention long enough for me to get a couple of gifts wrapped and lunch made…what can I say, I am a procrastinator 😉

It was super neat to watch my kids create stories about the little elves that were decorating the tree, work on creating patterns and sorting (color, size, shape). They did counting and experimented with different techniques such as what would happen if they twisted a color strand. But most importantly, they had fun.

Beaded Candy Cane Ornament

The Beaded Candy Cane Ornament one of the easiest crafts you can make with your kids and one of my favorites that I remember making as a child. This Christmas ornament is great for teaching basic AB pattern along with building some of those fine motor skills. This is a super simple activity that your family is sure to love!

This beaded candy cane is SIMPLE enough for me to do with the kids!

Some of the things that I love about this beaded candy cane ornament is that it doesn’t require much. Set up is simple and once made these ornaments are pretty indestructible. Considering that my two year old has been at war with our Christmas tree since it went up (and after the three or four times it has gone back up…) Christmas ornaments that aren’t going to shatter glass everywhere are pretty important for us.

Taste Safe Peppermint Cloud Dough

While I love this time of year, the weather changing and snowfall always comes with miserable migraines for me. When your knocked down from a migraine taking care of littles is not the easiest thing to do. This taste safe peppermint cloud dough is one of my favorite go-to sensory play bins on those days that a headache has me down. Not only is it easy to throw together and clean up, but it also has a really refreshing pick me up scent.

Another thing that I absolutely adore about this taste safe cloud dough recipe is that it is made of everyday ingredients that I already have in the home. My kids love helping make this and they will play with it for days!

Peppermint Sensory Writing Tray

When it comes to the holidays, peppermint is one of my favorite scents. Just one whiff and it is an instant magical trip back to the land of Santa and Rudolph and snow. Never fails, like a great glass of hot coco, peppermint will always remind me of this time of year. Because of that when it came time to work on our writing tonight I couldn’t think of any excuse to not make a Peppermint Sensory Writing Tray…tis the season 🙂
