When it comes to favorite toys in our house right now there are three that are battling each other for the first place: Dinosaurs, Legos/Duplos, and Playdough…

So, getting two of the favorites into one simple hands on activity? Major win! This activity kept my little man entertained long enough for me to get the dining room cleaned up and vacuumed from our Dino Dirt activity [which was brilliantly fun and horribly messy]…

Dino Dig: Exploring Fossils, Shapes, and the Alphabet!

Dinosaur Archaeological Play Dig: Create some simple clay dinosaur bones for use in sensory play activities to learn about shapes and letters at the same time! This is a great activity that is simple to do, amazing for some hands on exploration, and easy to take with you on the go!

As we have been exploring our Dinosaur theme Meatball has been adding in some of his own elements. The other night after playing with our Dinosaur Dirt (or more like while mommy cleaned it up), Meatball dragged out some play dough, clay, and stamps to distract himself with.

With the dinosaurs still sitting at the table, he went to town making impressions and playdough fossils. I love getting those little sneaks into the way that his mind works since he still is not yet quite talking.

Following his lead I pulled out our vowel stamps and grabbed some of our homemade air dry clay to make some fossils that we could use for an archaeological dig at the park!

Excavating Dinosaurs: Science, water play, and fine motor development all wrapped up in a fun, cool learning activity!

This Dinosaur activity was an extremely simple set up that kept my kiddos entertained and exploring science for over an hour!

We had an absolute blast with this activity! I thought that the kids might find it a tad frustrating as it takes forever to get those little dinosaurs out of their icy eggs, but it was the opposite! This activity was PERFECT for keeping them entertained for a good long time while exploring and having fun!

Dinosaur Dirt! Fun with Sand Foam!

We sure do love us some sensory play activities here! We’ve done DIY Kinetic Sand, Crunchy Foam Dough , Homemade Snow, and so much more!

This Sand Foam has such a smooth yet slimy and grainy texture that makes for a great sensory activity that kids love!

The best part is, it’s very inexpensive AND easy to make! This activity cost us $5 max!
