Peppermint Sensory Writing Tray

When it comes to the holidays, peppermint is one of my favorite scents. Just one whiff and it is an instant magical trip back to the land of Santa and Rudolph and snow. Never fails, like a great glass of hot coco, peppermint will always remind me of this time of year. Because of that when it came time to work on our writing tonight I couldn’t think of any excuse to not make a Peppermint Sensory Writing Tray…tis the season 🙂

Sensory writing trays are an excellent way to make challenging tasks for your child fun! These can be used from basic working on fine motor skills to sight words to even math problems! We love using sensory trays in our home!

Star Wars Galaxy Slime

It’s no secret that in our home sensory bins are a pretty big thing…anything that can entertain us til’ nap time is a pretty big thing. We love our sensory bins because they are just so easy to throw together and they entertain kids in open-ended play for hours. This week my kids have turned their focus to everything and anything Star Wars. Their excitement for the upcoming movie is near unbearable. So of course it is only logical that we do some Star Wars activities such as this Star Wars Galaxy Slime!

This slime was simple to make, a ton of fun, and a bugger to photograph…

Exploding Pumpkin!

Lately Livia has been regressing. It is a pattern that I have gotten all too familiar with — 2 weeks forward, 1 week back. So this afternoon when a quick activity was needed I could not think of anything more fun and engaging to do than a simple sensory science activity. As an added bonus it is blue which got Meatball super excited! We had a blast with this volcano pumpkin experiment!

We found these white pumpkins at our local grocer for insanely cheap. I picked up a couple of them to do our Teal Pumpkins for FARE, but by the time we were done decorating those we still had a couple left. I had seen different versions of this science experiment on a couple different sites such as Little Bins for Little Hands and Growing a Jeweled Rose and figured this would be a fantastic way to have some fun before decorating another pumpkin!

How to Train Your Dragon Slime

Have ya’ll seen Race to the Edge on Netflix? My son LOVED “How to Train Your Dragon” and has absolutely adored this show. We had in the past made this How To Train Your Dragon Slime for the movie. Just recently we revisited this activity after discovering Dragons of Netflix. The photos on this Toothless Slobber turned out so stunningly pretty I couldn’t resist updating this post. So if you are coming over from Pinterest — you are on the right post. It just has new images 😉

Every time Toothless slobbery kisses Hiccup the air in my home fills with laughter. It never ceases to amuse my kids…or the hubs for that matter.

Spidey Sense Slime

I wanted to make some Halloween slime this week and took Meatball with me to pick the supplies. He was admant about using red glue for the project and at the time I was oblivious as to why. With his language not fully in yet sometimes I just have to go with the flow. It wasn’t until he ran upstairs to put on a Spiderman shirt, mask, and socks to make this slime that I put it together. We weren’t making Halloween Spider Slime, we were making Spiderman Slime.

When is comes to superheros my son is obsessed with Spiderman. It’s an unwavering love. And I gotta give it to him, this slime is super fun!
